The sport launched in Germany in 2017. Soon after, the intense sport grew to hosting competitions in 11 countries and over 30 different cities.

Participation
According to HYROX, over 98% of athletes complete their races. The race has no restriction on completion time, which opens itself up to many participants. Since there are different race waves starting every 10 minutes, athletes don’t get a feeling of coming in last.
Founders
Christian Toetzke and 3-time Olympic Medallist Moritz Furste built the organization to hosting events seeing over 8,000 participants and 10,000 spectators, making the sport the world’s largest mass participation Fitness Race.
