In Monday’s American Ninja Warrior Season 16 Episode 2, the action continued as ninjas competed in Los Angeles for Qualifier 3 & 4. During the episode, ninjas get a chance at $20,000 if they reach the buzzer in under a minute twenty seconds and complete the Mega Wall.

The episode began with Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila with the opening remarks.

Tommy Rutte from Des Moines, IA started off first on the course. The 26 year old demolision foreman completed Pole Vault, Ring Chaser, and Spinning Bridge, but couldn’t make it on Heavy Metal.

Emily Keener from Colorado was up next on the course. She made it through Pole Vault, Ring Chaser, Spinning Bridge, Heavy Metal, but couldn’t complete the Cubes.

Tim Gallenbeck for Iowa stayed out of the water on Pole Vault, but he got a little messy on Ring Chaser and fell on the obstacle.

The Sky Ninja Jess Wombles from Indiana. The 17-year old soared through Pole Vault and Ringe Chaser, but fell on the Spinning Bridge.

Anabella Heinrichs had no problem with the early obstacles, but hit her head on Heavy Metal and fell on the obstacle.

Nathan Green sped through the early obstacles. After digging deep on the Cubes, he was able to make it up the Warped Wall in two minutes and 40 seconds to be the first finisher of the night.

Marquez Green made the early obstacles look like a breeze, but he had a slip up on the Cubes.

6’4” Christopher Kadima used his long arms to his advantage on the obstacle course, but fell on the Spinning Bridge.

Mike Maher from Illinois showed his age was no obstacle as he completed Pole Vault, but he wasn’t able to dismount on Ring Chaser.

16 year old Seth Lambert from Colorado completed the first few obstacles with ease. Unfortunately he fell on Heavy Metal.

The Bug Ninja Eric Middleton from San Diego, CA flew through the course, but was hung up on the Cubes.

Physical therapist Tyler Yamauchi rolled through the course aiming for another buzzer this year, but fell on Heavy Metal.

Mady Howard from Washington, UT came back for her 5th season on the show. She had a mis-step on Pole Vault, but completed the obstacle. She ran through the next obstacles easily, but came up short on the Cubes.

David Womelsdorf from Chicago, IL made it to the 4th obstacle, but fell on Heavy Metal.

Rysann Clark from St. George, UT made the early obstacles look like a breeze, but fell on the Spinning Bridge.

Ben Behrends from Cedar Falls, IA flew through the course and was able to hit his first buzzer in two minutes and eight seconds.

Scott Behrends was aiming for another buzzer this year, but fell on the Cubes obstacle.

Max Feinberg kept his streak alive and was able to hit a buzzer.

Kaden Lebsack from Colorado was the last ninja standing in season 13 and 14. He hit another buzzer this year, but was just shy of beating one minute and twenty seconds for a chance at the Mega Wall.

Levi Enright sped through the course and hit the buzzer in under one minute and twenty seconds for a chance at the Mega Wall. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to make it up the monstrous 18’ 6” wall this year.

Mark Farrell from Layton, UT completed the early obstacles, but fell on Ring Chaser.

Chris Behrends blasted through the course and hit a buzzer.


Tyler Yamauchi and Seth Lambert went head to head for a spot in the Semi-finals. Lambert started off ahead, but Yamauchi was able to take the lead and beat out Lambert by 2/10 of a second.

Rysann Clark and Violet Kepo went head to head for the next Runoffs. Kepo took the lead on the Quintuple Steps, but the duo evened out after the Shelf Grab. Clark fell on the final obstacle as Kepo pushed through to the buzzer.

Ace Goodson completed the early obstacles, but fell on the Spinning Bridge.

Ben Kooper moved fast on the early obstacles, but fell on Jawbreaker.

Melia Ochsener from Pennsylvania came out ready to work some magic, but struggled on Reel to Reel.

6’2” Maverick McMurty from California looked good on the first obstacle, but fell on Reel to Reel.

Parker Hewes, the Backcountry Ninja, made it to the second part of Reel to Reel, but fell on the transition.

25 year old Casey Rothschild from Holliston, MA has hit buzzers twice in qualifying. The former college athlete had no problem with Pole Vault. She came out fast, but couldn’t hang onto the bar when she went backwards on Heavy Metal.

Nejee Richardson from Philadelphia, PA came back for his final season on American Ninja Warrior. The Flying Phoenix decided to make a transition from athlete to fan and pursue his career in acting. The ninja warrior veteran flew through Pole Vault, Reel to Reel, and Heavy Metal. He sped up to get a chance at the Mega Wall, but had a slip up. Even with a missed first attempt on the 14’ 6” wall, his fast pace gave him a time of one minute thirty four seconds.

Daniella Blanchard had the entrance to die for. The 22-year old from Sleepy Hollow, New York. She fell on Pole Vault.

Devan Alexander made it to the national finals as a rookie three years ago. He came out fast, but slipped on Spinning Bridge.

The Godfather David Campbell, the only athlete to compete on every season of American Ninja Warrior came out to win. He’s finished five out of the last six qualifying courses, but he didn’t do it this time. Campbell fell on Jawbreakers.

17-year old Jacob Arnstein from Holbrook, MA was able to complete the course in one minute thirty one seconds.

Stuntman Ramcis Valdez also hit a buzzer, completing the course in one minute and twenty three seconds.

Jay Lewis sped through for one of the fastest times of the night, but he came up short on the 18-foot Mega Wall.

Elly Hart, a physician assistant, was able to push through Reel to Reel. The former gymnast fell on the Spinning Bridge.

Guang Cui works on Wall Street, but is also a rapper who goes by Gueezy. The rapper got rolling on the course and made it to Jawbreaker, but fell on the last part of the obstacle.

Noah Meunier from Lakeville, MA started off hot on the course. The teenager stayed focused and completed the course in one minute and 4 seconds. He got high, but wasn’t able to make it on the Mega Wall.

Matt Bradley flew through the course and hit a buzzer in a minute. He was not able to make it up the Mega Wall.

Sean Bryan from Concord, CA was ready to hit a buzzer. The 39-year old made precise moves and completed the course in a minute and seven seconds. He has tried the Mega Wall three previous times over the years. The Papal Ninja was not able to make it up this time.

Addy Herman from Pembroke, Massachusetts has been one of the top females the past few years. This year she won the Women’s Championship and $50,000. The 18-year old has looked up to Ninja Warrior veterans Jessie Graff, Jeese Labreck, and Barclay Stockett, and is now a role model to others. Addy came out strong, making the early obstacles look like a breeze. Unfortunately, she fell on Heavy Metal.


Rachel Degutz let out her signature scream at the start line. The middle school science teacher failed to get past the qualifying round as she fell on Reel to Reel.

Taylor Johnson from Foxborough, MA was pumped to be back on the course. She reached the fourth obstacle, but was fell on Heavy Metal.

In the Runoffs, Elly Hart went face to face with Jojo Grubesic. Elly slipped on the Wingnuts, giving Jojo time to make it ahead for the win.

Ben Kooper and Guang Cui raced as for the final spot in the Semi-finals. The pair looked even throughout, but Ben fell on the final obstacle.
